A TOE STORY

A Toe Story

Here is the Toe Story of our client Ms. Clark

Our client Ms. Clark was shopping at a local department store. She was wearing fashion "open toe" sandals. As she approached a shelf to get an item, she did not notice that at the base of the shelf there was a sharp metal edge. Needless to say, that edge cut into her small (Pinky) toe. She bled and reported the injury to the store manager. The next day the risk management department called her and offered her $250. She declined because she was having alot of pain and wanted to go to a doctor. A few days later she went to the doctor and was prescribed antibiotics, told to elevate her foot and use ice for the pain. A week later, the risk management department called her again and they offered her $1000 to cover the cost and pain and suffering.

She signed up with our office and continued to take precautions with her foot and saw the doctor one more time. Finally, 3 months later she was back to normal. Our experts drafted a demand letter and submitted it to the insurance company for the department store. After a week of waiting, the insurance company offered our client $7,500. If she had taken the initial offer of $250 or even the subsequent $1000 offer, she would have left $6,500 on the table. So, this case clearly shows the benefit of hiring a personal injury lawyer VS trying to work it out on your own with the insurance company. Let an experienced personal injury lawyer like Phil Stillman help you with your personal injury case.
